Before you buy

To purchase NVivo Server you need to consider the licensing and access requirements of your team. The fastest way to determine your needs – is to contact us.

Software licensing: NVivo Server and NVivo

NVivo 10 and NVivo Server 10 are separate software products. To work with NVivo projects stored on a server, your organization needs licenses for both NVivo 10 and NVivo Server 10. Each team member needs an NVivo 10 license, and a license is also required to install NVivo Server 10 onto the server.

NVivo Server licensing

Licensing is based on the number of users and the hardware that NVivo Server 10 will be installed on. You can choose to allocate licenses to specific users, or to concurrent (floating) users, or a combination of both. Your IT team will be able to help you determine these requirements, and our NVivo Server 10 Licensing Overview will help with this process.

“I am one of eight researchers and I liked the fact that there are features [in NVivo] that now allow members of a team to comment and then come back together and compare their coding (analysis) and work.”
