Both a 32-bit version and a 64-bit version of NVivo 10 are available.
The 64-bit version of NVivo 10 can only be installed on computers that are running a 64-bit version of the Windows 7 or Windows 8 operating system.
If you’re running a 64-bit version of Windows 7 or Windows 8, and you are working with the 32-bit version of NVivo 10, upgrading to the 64-bit version of NVivo 10 is free. However, you will need to deactivate and uninstall your 32-bit version of NVivo 10 prior to installing the new 64-bit version.
To deactivate your license:
- Make sure that you are connected to the Internet.
- If you have an NVivo project open, you must close the project before you can deactivate the license.
- Click the File tab, point to Help, and then click Deactivate License.
- Click Yes to confirm.
NVivo deactivates the license and displays a message to confirm that the license has been deactivated.
- Click OK.
The NVivo application automatically closes.
Please note however, that some video files with a .mov or .qt extension may not play with the 64-bit version of NVivo. Please refer to Are there any known issues in NVivo 10? for further information. |
